There has been a lot of disagreement about remedial education over at least the past few decades.

  • Should we focus on remediation at all? Has it helped?
  • Should we provide required or suggested supports to students going into math or English?
  • Should we administer outcome-based or non-cognitive placement assessments?
  • What about remediation outside of math, reaching, and English?

These are a few of the questions that have plague k12 and higher education. Everyone wants what is best for students, so why can’t we agree!?!
